The Young Americas Business Trust promotes personal development and entrepreneurial skills programs for young people through partnerships with public and private sector organizations. A non-profit corporation, it is affiliated with the Organization of American States (OAS), an international organization of thirty-four countries, including the US, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The YABT is exploring ideas how young people can overcome the poverty that prevents them from finding the talent that is within them. An initial idea is to pull together a network - we are calling it a "Circle" - of Native American and partner organizations to build on our experiences, ideas, and resources to develop and expand these programs. The eventual goal of the Circle is to undertake new projects to better meet the needs of Indigenous young people. The enclosed proposal for this Circle outlines this project; we are now reviewing it with interested sponsors and participants. We would welcome your collaboration.
However, the Young Americas Business Trust must rely on interested sponsors and supporters for the funds for these programs. You can be a leader in this effort and we are asking you to contribute financially and to work with us to identify other contributors, organizations, businesses, foundations, individuals, or governmental agencies. We are asking people to give as they can and every contribution is important to help getting started on this important work.
We would also appreciate your helping to identify successful organizations and dedicated individuals in this field who could participate or be advisors. This collaborative network for and with young indigenous people throughout the Americas will be an exciting project that will benefit everyone, providing a means to exchange experience and expertise on successful youth programs. The involvement of your organization would be an important addition to this partnership.
