Youth on the Move: Young People and Migration
Introductory Paragraph
The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), a non profit international organization that works in cooperation with the Organization of the American States (OAS) to promote the development of young entrepreneurs in the areas of Leadership and Networking, Training, Technology and Strategic Alliances, executes the following component of the Migration and Development Program: Initiatives to stimulate local development and facilitate access to local markets for youth at risk to migrate.
This project aims to develop and promote entrepreneurship among young people living in rural areas under low income; therefore they can create their own businesses efficiently using available resources in their local communities. The activities that comprise this project include:
1.- Diagnostic of current conditions, reasons for youth migration and mapping of organizations working in the field of youth and migration.
2.- Compilation and documentation of national and international case studies, results and best practices on youth migration for building on successful strategies and increasing international cooperation while designing a plan on youth skills training.
3.-Preparation of action plan for increasing migrant youth participation in existing programs , designing new programs and expanding toolkits for organizations working with youth.
