2006 Global-TIC
Organizer Empowering Workshop 

Young Americas Business Trust's representatives who are the coordinators for the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas (TIC Americas), participated in a 10 days workshop “ 2006 Global –TIC Organizer Empowering Workshop”, which was held from August 22nd to 31st , 2006 in Taipei, Taiwan. 

The workshop provided training to the coordinators for the TIC Americas, with the objective of setting the structure to develop the sub-regional TICs as well as the regional one. 

It is important to mention that Mr. Roy Thomasson, Chief Executive Officer of YABT, and Luis Viguria, Program Director of YABT, together with the Program Managers of the organization YABT, met on August 21 st with important authorities of International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF), Advantech Foundation and TICa, in order to discuss about the priorities and the following steps of the TIC Americas .

The TIC AMERICAS is the most expected competition for the young people in the Americas and YABT will provide this opportunity for them thanks to the support of the ICDF, Advantech Foundation, TICa, IDB Youth, City of knowledge, and the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States (OAS).

The 1 st phase of the TIC Americas will be a Virtual Competition and it is going to be divided in 7 sub regions: Central America, North America, Caribbean, Mercosur, the Andean Countries, Mexico and Brazil . The sub regional Coordinators who participated in the workshop were the following:

Ms. Nichole Duncan, Program Manager of the Young Americas Business Trust and Coordinator of the "TIC Caribbean "

Ms. Valerie Lorena, Program Manager of the Young Americas Business Trust and Coordinator of the TIC " North America "

Ms. Paola Anzola, President, Young Americas Business Trust - Mexico and Coordinator of the "TIC Mexico "

Mr. Eysel Chong, City of Knowledge Representative and Coordinator of "TIC Central America"

Mr. Jackson Morais, Program Officer Young Americas Business Trust - Brazil and Coordinator of the "TIC Brazil "

Mr. Edgar Maestre, National Coordinator, Young Americas Business Trust - Panama and Coordinator of the "Regional TIC, June 2007"

Mr. Eduardo Molina, IT Manager of the Young Americas Business Trust and coordinator of the TIC Americas platform.
