Young Americas Business Trust meets

with L’Alliance Athlétisme

Chrétien d’Haïti

(Alliance of Christian Athletics of Haiti)

January 31, 2006

Americas Business Trust, (YABT) met with Alliance of Christian Athletics of Haiti, (AACH) on January 31 to discuss the prospects of a potential partnership for the development of Haiti.

It was suggested to host a two-week Business Lab in Florida in late May for Haitian university and college students who will be returning home to Haiti this coming summer, Haitians living in the US and in Haiti. The first week will consist of the traditional Business Lab. The second week will allow the participants to adapt the Business Lab program for the needs of their own country and to formulate a plan for implementation.

The participants are to be identified by YABT with the support AACH. Scholarship will be available to pay for their expenses to attend the conference total and partial. In return for this, they will be responsible to accomplish two main requirements. First, before attending the workshop, they will be expected to translate the Business Labs materials into Creole and possibly French. After the completion of the Business Lab, the participants are expected to return home and perform a Business Lab in Haiti for the purpose of training additional trainers.

The time line for this part of the project is approximately two months. The first three to four weeks back in Haiti are to be dedicated to organizing a workshop and identifying prospective participants. Then they will host the weeklong Business Lab. In the final two to three weeks, they will assess their work and prepare a report for YABT and OAS consideration.

YABT looks forward to continued work with AACH, collaborating efforts to bring economic stability to Haiti and other countries in the region.
