The Executive Secretariat for Integral Development of the Organization of American States (OAS/SEDI) and the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) are pleased to announce the national training workshop in Saint Lucia on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Caribbean from June 23 to June 25, 2008 at the Royal Saint Lucia Hotel, Castries, Saint Lucia. This workshop is developed within the framework of the OAS/SEDI program: "Promoting Corporate Social Responsibility in SME's in the Caribbean," thanks to the cooperation and financial support provided by the Government of Canada through the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

This is the third national workshop of the program, after the first two organized in Guyana and Jamaica in April and May respectively. In the upcoming Saint Lucia workshop, the SMEs and representatives participating will have the opportunity to attend and participate in a joint session on Thursday, June 26, 2008, organized by the OAS and YABT, along with the representatives of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The interaction and exchange of experiences of CSR will enhance the synergies and strengthen the programs all these partnering institutions are developing throughout the Caribbean.

There will be 25 SMEs participating in the workshop, along with representatives from the private and public sectors in Saint Lucia presenting in various panels and case studies. The World Bank Institute (WBI) and the ISO will also have the opportunity to showcase the work they are doing on CSR throughout the workshop.
