The Young Americas Business Trust supports the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2008
The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT), through its YABT National Chapters and partnering organizations, will be supporting the preparation and implementation of the Global Entrepreneurship Week as a Global Partner for the initiative. The Global Entrepreneurship Week will be launched on November 13, 2007, in Central London, England, with the participation of the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Kauffman Foundation President, Carl Schramm.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week takes place from November 17-23, 2008, and "will leverage existing networks and create new opportunities, reaching millions of young people around the world and inspiring them to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity." (www.unleashingideas.org).
The objectives of the Global Entrepreneurship Week include inspiring, connecting informing, mentoring, and engaging young people around the world to become more enterprising and active leaders in their communities. "Students, educators, entrepreneurs, business leaders, employees, non-profit leaders, government officials and many others will participate in a range of activities - online and face-to-face - to harness the energy of social networking, to connect people taking action in their local and global communities and to celebrate entrepreneurship across the globe." (www.unleashingideas.org).
As a Global Partner for the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the YABT is committed in engaging its global reach, through the collaboration with existing networks of young people and organizations working on youth development, to help promote this initiative. Along with the recognition and visibility provided through the YABT website, the YABT National Chapters will seek to implement various on-site programs and events during the planned week of activities in November, 2008.
