For a joint effort to assist the critical situation in Haiti after the earthquake that hit southwest areas surrounding its capital, Port au Prince, the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and the Organization of American States (OAS) with other international organizations urges the community of the Americas to raise fund to support Haiti.
YABT in collaboration with OAS, requests all concerned individual and organization to cooperate with the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF), a section of the OAS for natural disaster relief. Donations will be used in purchasing and transporting the relief Haiti needs. The following link is to PADF for you to donate.
In addition, YABT supported in organizing a fund raising event at Josephine club in Washington D.C. on January 22, 2010. The fund raised as a result of one day event reached to $ 20,000 USD, which will be donated to the organization Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross mission in Haiti. The raised fund will entirely be used to purchase food, medicines, and supplies for building shelters in Haiti.
The event was held in cooperation with the Youth-to-Youth Community and Junior Professional Associate Community World Bank Youth Connection (YP-BID), Professional YABT-OAS, Green and Italian Meetup in Washington DC (IDC).
YABT continues with the initiative to combine efforts in raising funds to help Haiti.
