The
Young Americas Business Trust signed an Agreement of Cooperation with
the Mayor of Medellín and the University of Antioquia

On May 28,
the Chief Executive Officer of the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT),
Mr. Roy Thomasson; the Mayor of Medellín, H.E. Alonso Salazar Jaramillo:
and the Rector of the University of Antioquia, Mr. Alberto Uribe Correa
signed an Agreement of Cooperation to strengthen the support for entrepreneurs.
The Agreement
looks to promote the participation and integration of the University of
Antioquia, through its business incubator Parque del Emprendimiento, with
the labor that the Young Americas Business Trust continues accomplishing
in the Region.
The event
was held at Parque del Emprendimiento within the framework of the Roundtable
on Science and Entrepreneurship as an event previous to the TIC Americas
Finals in which distinguished personalities joined YABT, among those who
stood out: the Assistant Secretary General, Ambassador Albert R. Ramdin;
the Ambassador Michael King, President of the Permanent Council of the
OAS; the Permanent Representative of Bolivia to the OAS, Ambassador Reynaldo
Cuadros Anaya; the Principal Specialist of the OAS Department of Science
and Technology, Mr. Jorge Duran; the Representative of the International
Cooperation and Development Fund, Mr. Jonathan Liu; the Secretary of Education
of Medellín, Mr. Felipe Andres Gil, among others.
Ambassador
Ramdin declared his happiness of the work of YABT in the Americas: "The
work that YABT keeps doing fills us with satisfaction and encourages the
joining of forces that manifests itself in the signing at this agreement".
Additionaly, Mr. Roy Thomasson, stated: "the objective of YABT is
to promote the advancement of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean
through the development of Entrepreneurship".
The Young
Americas Business Trust is an initiative of the private sector that works
in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the OAS, with the purpose
of reducing poverty and unemployment basing it on skills advancement and
training of young entrepreneurs for the generation of sustainable businesses.
