Paraguayan Entrepreneurs Successfully Complete Training Program
Twenty-four young entrepreneurs received business training through a five-day Business Laboratories program held by the Young Americas Business Trust in the Guarani Land.
The training was made possible thanks to efforts made by YABT Paraguay in conjunction with the Program of Entrepreneurs of the National University of Asuncion and its Business Incubator, who offered the "VI Training Workshop to Entrepreneurs" on August 18 - 22 at the Faculty Polytechnic of the UNA.
"Without a doubt, it was a great opportunity for all attendees, as they related to young people like themselves, entrepreneurs with great business ideas. In addition, they attended classes and lectures of the highest level, such as that made by Roberto Jimenez, Business Manager of the Fundación Paraguaya, who spoke about Microcredit", said Claudia Pompa, representative of YABT Paraguay. She also stressed that the Business Lab addressed issues such as: Entrepreneurial Development Skills; Innovation Concepts; Creativity; Business and Marketing Plans; Teamwork; Operational Planning and Budgeting; Workplace Study Visits; PYMES Support Programs; Website Design; and a Product Fair.
"The organization felt this Business Lab and specifically these issues were necessary because 70% of Paraguay's population is under 30 years old, and its unemployment rate is too high. We think it is a priority to actually give young people the tools that enable them to generate business ideas and not hope they might pick them up through a job," said Pompa, adding that such workshops are a great way to strengthen entrepreneurship and automatically recognize the personal skills that young people hold.
Students, teachers, professionals and officials from various Paraguayan organizations and companies participated in the workshop and were completely satisfied with the experience because it fulfilled the expectations they raised in the beginning.
Today, YABT Paraguay is planning new ideas to continue supporting young entrepreneurs. In this context, it is necessary to stress that there will be a support center based on business models proposed by the Israeli Center for International Cooperation MASHAV.
The course drew from characteristics of workshops, lectures, consultations and advice from Israeli instructors, who are governed by the principle of sharing with other nations experience gained by Israel in various areas such as agriculture, community and family medicine and education.
